In my opinion, this is a very healthy thing to do, since not only is she exercising by walking, an activity that has proven to be very good for your body, but she is also breaking the routine by using clothes that she normally wouldn’t wear, not in her wildest dreams, and also by going outside, something revolutionary in this day and age. It seems to be that this piece of film is trying to make a social commentary on today’s culture of youngsters prefering to stay inside within the barriers of their homes, and would rather not go outside, be adventurous and enjoy life to the fullest. We must give credit to the director of this marvelous show for bringing new ideas to the table, specially in a genre so stagnated as this one.
A while after, she starts noticing that people, in the majority that of the XY cromosomes holders, are looking at her for extensive periods of time. The gentlemen then invite her to play a traditional Japanese game with them, called “King game”. According to Wikipedia, the game works like this: “The king game starts with a stack of paper equal to the number of participants, one of which is labeled as the “king,” and others with a number. Each participant must then draw a piece. Similar to the American game of truth or dare, the king gets to give out an order, then calls out a number. The participant with the called number must then follow the given order (note the king is unaware of the other participants numbers). After the order is carried out the pieces of paper are drawn again and a new king is appointed. (Note: the king game is sometimes played without the number system).”
While playing said game, the three gentlemen turn out to have a not so gentleman-like, behaviour, because they seem to take advantage of the fact that this very respectable housewife is in a drunk state, and decide to cheat on the game.
The three not-so-gentlemen gentlemen dare this lady to perform various sexual favours for them, which includes intercourse, all of this while being recorded. The show, with this, makes a perfect commentary on both today’s dating world, where everyone is just trying to have “sexual frienships” instead of long-lasting relationships; and in the tought barrier women have to face when dating.
The episode then ends with the lady excusing herself to catch a meat sale taking place at the convenience store. This perfecly simbolizes how vapid relationships are nowadays, where everything ends early and because of banal reasons.
As a conclusion, this show is perfect for studing social topics of interest in today’s society, such as dating, relationships, and the tought dating experience for women.
